PHILOSOPHY
Noah Sow:
I instantly dug the short film “neulich auf dem Dachboden” by Hamburg indie filmmakers Timo and Thorsten Landsiedel and kept thinking how cool it would interact with our song. When I asked Timo whether they would want to try combining the two works – not one serving the other – but to create a hybrid in which the piece of music and the piece of film could actually co-exist and at the same time go beyond their original forms, they liked the idea.
My vision is to not ever limit inspiration and cooperation. This applies to the music videos as well. We independent musicians produce songs – based on our own ideas, teaming-up, creativity and expanses. It’s easy to put your music out there but quite challenging to get it recognized, without a video almost impossible. Exact same thing with filmmakers: they produce short films -based on their own ideas, teaming-up, creativity and expanses. While bands focus on the music while always trying to take their songs to the next level with a cool video and filmmakers focus on the film while always trying to create new platforms for their work to be seen, it makes so much sense to combine the two.
I would love to see more independent filmmakers, visual artists and musicians team up, cooperate and “use”/combine each others work. Consensually, of course. I’d like to see a video channel which features these kinds of music/video cooperations!

Based on a snapshot Noah did in a bar while rocking out in Paris with Honeychild, Pillow Theory‘s Kelsey and the Fluff Girls’ Sound System.
The hooker giraffe in the window is innocent that behind her back there’s a hoard of policemen with helmets getting ready to clear the street at this moment.

Lyrics:
The German lyrics refer to a situation in which you had to defend yourself physically – and don’t regret it.
The English lyrics refer to a situation in which your slightly abusive relationship went down the drains and you deal quite well with ending it.
